FR. LEO LYNCH YOUTH MINISTRY

The Father Leo Lynch Youth Ministry Program

In conjunction with the Religious Education students in Grades 7 - 10, the Fr. Leo Lynch Youth Ministry Program engages the students with community service projects, activities, seminars and social events.

We are excited this year to introduce a Mentoring Program.  Grade 9 students will be working on a community service project with Grade 7 students and Grade 10 students with Grade 8 students.

A Bed for Every Child

There will be teams made up of 4 students.  These students will:

  • Fundraise to cover the cost of a bed.
  • Using simple carpentry, build a bed.
  • Write a message and take a team photo to send along with the bed.

"Because all children deserve a place to dream."

The Dwelling Place

This is an opportunity for students to help those in need in their own town.  Teams of 10 - 12 students will participate in:

  • Preparing a meal for about 25 people.
  • Serve the meal.
  • Clean up after the meal.

Christian Unity Service

Each year the WCC hosts a Christian Unity Service.  We are identifying areas of opportunity for our students to get involved.

Youth Praise and Worship Concert

An ecumenical outreach of live music, teaching, and prayer will be held in the Fr. Anadore Hall throughout the school year.

Friends of St. Anthony Food Pantry

FOSA provides monthly groceries to local families and holiday meals (prepared for the senior homebound and unprepared for food pantry clients).  Students will:

  • Go with a driver to deliver the hot meals.
  • Organize the pantry.
  • Package groceries for pick up.

Assisted Living Companions

The WCC works with several area Assisted Living Homes.  Students can:

  • Play games
  • Do arts & crafts
  • Read to some

It is our hope that bonds will be made and a relationship forms between the students and residents.

Friends of St. Anthony Outreach

FOSA makes sure that the local homebound elderly and Boston homeless are not forgotten.  Various activities for the students are:

  • Collect clothing items, food items, toiletries, etc. for the Boston homeless.
  • Participate in the Christmas Wreath fundraiser.
